“I started in March of this year, I’m friends with Connie & she’s been telling me about CFTE for a long time. I was at a different point in my fitness journey in March & was ready for a change. I came to a Thursday night 5pm class & joined by the time I left that night! 
Favorite workout would be anything with squats & deadlifts! And because of CF I now like running too!
Least favorite is anything involving the jump ropes honestly
I only workout @ the 5pm on Thursdays, I do the 6pm mostly & the 10am on Saturdays—I love the people I’ve met from going at different times, I’ve made some good friends @ CFTE
The wallpaper on my phone says “Good Vibes – Pura Vida” because I try to bring good vibes wherever I go 🙂 
My experience @ CFTE has been like no other. I’ve never felt stronger & better about myself in my whole life. The positivity that’s encouraged throughout the workouts has helped push me to challenge myself & fight to finish every wod. The coaches are so supportive & really care about us as not only athletes but as people too. It’s truly a wonderful place & I am so glad I joined!! ” -Amy

Athletes of the Month!

 

 

Congratulations to Jenn Siemann and Kolin Sweeting, they are our Athletes of the Month! Be sure to give them a big high five when you see them!

Here is what they had to say to the fun questions we asked them:

When and how did you get started with us?
February 2017. My friend told me about CrossFit and convinced me to try it and I ended up loving it.

Favorite workout?
Deadlifts and lately pull ups.

 

Least favorite workout?
Anything with burpees!

 

What’s the best part about working out with the 10am?
I love how it is usually the same people at this time and we all encourage each other to keep going. Everyone who comes is amazing.

 

What’s the wallpaper on your phone right now?
My tortoise.

What’s your overall experience been like here at CFTE?
Everything about CFTE has been amazing. I look forward to coming here and don’t dread exercise as much. It has changed my outlook on being healthy and wanting to make a change for the better. Everyone is so encouraging and it has the safest and most amazing environment I’ve experienced.  – Jenn Siemann

When and how did you get started with us?
I got started in June 2017. I had always been doing workouts at home like Insanity: Max 30 but even though the workouts were difficult, I started to get bored, especially because I did them by myself. My older brother, who’s a Crossfit coach back home in the Bahamas, had been telling me for years that I should try it out. I wish I had listened to him sooner. After visiting a few different boxes, CFTE was by far the most inviting and welcoming. I knew after the first WOD that I would be joining and it’s been a great few months. 

Favorite workout?
Probably rope climbs and/or muscle ups just because depending on how the WOD is structured always changes their difficulty for me. 

Least favorite workout?
No question man makers and atomic anything (sit ups, walls balls, whatever other movements there are)

What’s the best part about working out with the 6am?
The fact that people are so alert in this class amazes me. Initially, I was going to the 8 pm class but I had to change that to 6am because of my work schedule. Best parts of the class are the people there that are always encouraging one another and the coaches that are always pushing me and helping me improve. 

What’s the wallpaper on your phone right now?
I’m pretty boring. The same wallpaper that came with the phone. 

What’s your overall experience been like here at CFTE?
My overall experience has been beyond amazing. My fellow athletes, the coaches, the WODs, the environment, everything. Like I said before, I wish I started Crossfit earlier but if the delay is what brought me to CFTE instead of another box, I’m glad I waited. I look forward to seeing everyone, including myself, progress over time and become better and better. In starting to set goals and I’m confident CFTE is the best place for me to achieve them. – Kolin Sweeting

What’s your overall experience been like here at CFTE?

Amazing, there is no better way to describe it. It’s become my second family and second home. On days I’m not there I miss seeing everyone and being there. The environment just makes you want to be better and worker harder, the coaches are amazing, the people are amazing. It’s all around an awesome experience every time. – Matt

CFTE Athletes of the Month!

Congratulations to Tanya and Donovan Fray!  They are CFTE’s Athletes of the Month!!!  Check out what they had to say:

1.  I started the 6 week challenge on March 27th and fell in love with the classes and had to continue.

2.  Dumbbell Snatches, deadlifts, sit ups and push-ups are my favorites.

3.  I would have to say running and burpees.  I must admit I do cringe when I see either in the WOD, but I know as I continue to progress it will become easier.

4.  I work out with the 8pm class during the week and the 8am class on Sundays and i love the groups.  There is definitely as sense of commradery and I have developed a few friendships.  Everyone including the coaches are encouraging and even with the struggles I am able to finish.

5.  My wall paper on my phone are my 2 boys.

6.  My overall experience with CFTE has been amazing, I am excited to come each evening to get challenged.  All of the coaches make the classes fun and enjoyable coupled with the great people I get to work out with.  Believe it or not I look forward to working out. – Tanya Fray

I got started with CFTE by joining the January 2017, 6 week challenge. I’d seen it advertised in the weeks prior and decided to give it a shot.

My favorite workout so far would have to be DB Thrusters. It’s a new exercise, to me, but I learned it quickly. They provide a very cool total body workout.

My least favorite exercise is the overhead squat. Still struggle with that one but I’m working on it.

I typically workout with the 7 or 8pm crew. The time provides me a chance to get home from work, unwind a bit, then head back in for an evening workout. The athletes in those classes are all really cool, nice, encouraging and most of all competitive. Their hard work and effort pushes me to try that much harder. RESPECT!!!

The wallpaper on my phone right now is a pic of me with my 2 sons after a youth track meet. Those guys are my heartbeat.

I tell everyone that my experience at CFTE thusfar had been awesome. Even better than I expected. Great coaches, a competitive atmosphere, and great members who again are encouraging and help motivate you to push through to the end. Im glad I gave CFTE a chance and I look forward to training with them for long time.

CFTE Athletes of the Month!

Congratulations to Mary Crinnion and Alex Garofalo for they are CFTE Athletes of the Month!!

When and how did you get started with us?

I got started in February when my friend, Monica came to talk about Crossfit at a program I volunteer at.  She inspired me to join and I am so grateful for that.

 

Favorite workout?

My favorite workouts are those that involve weight lifting because it gives me such as rush. Even though it may not seem like it all the time, I love the really challenging wods because I love to push myself to do things I never thought I would.

 

Least favorite workout?

My least favorite workouts are ones that involve dubble unders and running but they’re two things I would love to improve my performance in with the help of my coaches.

 

What’s the best part about working out with the 7pm?

I like to switch up the classes that I attend because I want to get the chance to meet new people and to have some fun working out with them.  I also like having a chance to work out with all of the coaches.

 

What’s the wallpaper on your phone right now?

There’s a picture of my dog for my lock screen and my home screen is a picture of my baby cousin.

What’s your overall experience been like here at CFTE?

My overall experience at total empowerment has been awesome.  Everyday I look forward to coming to get my workout in surrounded by people who really inspire me.  When I worked out at a regular gym, I would always look forward to the workout out being over but here I love the beginning, the middle and the end.   All of the coaches and other athletes are always motivating me to try my hardest and that is something that I might not receive anywhere else.  I never thought I would be able to do a lot of the things I do here.  Just 4 months ago I had never picked up a weight! Thank you guys for all you do form me.  You are some of my biggest inspirations. – MARY CRINNION

When and how did you get started with us?
I started at CFTE in February, I started the same time with my sister and mother. 
Favorite workout?
Favorite workout would be anything with Bench Press.
Least favorite workout?
Least Favorite- Anything involving Kettlebells.
What’s the best part about working out with the 6pm?
Best Part about working out at the 7:00 PM class, it typically ends up being a High Energy Class with great support. All the classes I attend are like this!

What’s your overall experience been like here at CFTE?
I love going to CFTE, the experience has been nothing short of awesome.
