Michael Cosenza has been involved in sports since his early childhood days. With basketball and baseball standing out the most, he went on to play both sports all four years of high school. Throughout his athletic career, Michael would always train to keep his body in shape, which was more on the standard “body building” type style of training. Back in 2009, Michael ran the New York City Marathon in honor of his father to help research and find a cure for cancer. After crossing that finish line (26.2 miles later) he realized, with hard work and dedication, anything can be accomplished in life! This motivated Michael to train even harder and to set even higher goals. Michael was then introduced to Crossfit and just like every other athlete, he was immediately blown away! After completing his first “WOD” he realized, Crossfit was the only way to train. With the combination of varied movements and high energy and excitement, Michael knew he would be doing this for a long time. Crossfit has allowed him to push himself to the highest limits of fitness and have fun while doing it. It has inspired him so much that Michael attained his Crossfit level 1 certification. Now that he has the opportunity to be on the opposite side and coach, there’s no better feeling for Michael than helping others strive to achieve their fitness goals at Crossfit Total Empowerment.
